TRAPPED IN DOORS is a new physical theatre company based in the UK. The company consists of performers, directors, choreographers and designers all of whom come from a range of different training backgrounds whether it be acting, dance, clowning, aerial acrobatics or puppetry. Trapped In Doors also boasts a culturally diverse array of company members including artists from England, Scotland, Ireland, America, Norway and Zimbabwe.
Our goal is to create performances which truly find a balance between dance and theatre and where the 'performers' are just that, and are unable to be pigeon holed into a limiting genre. Too often we find ourselves going to a show billed as "physical theatre" only to discover we are at a dance show with a bit of a story line to it, or a theatre show with a bit of movement in it.

Here at Trapped In Doors we aim to blend the worlds, both artistically and theatrically. We want to break down that fourth wall and make the audience question what is reality and what is performance, blurring the line between the two.

If you would like to find out more about our company, or wish to take part in or even sit in on one of our workshops, please feel free to contact us!

The company is holding workshops in January at The Blue Coat in Liverpool, and in April will be taking up a residency at Edinburgh's Dance Base.

Trapped In Doors plans to attend several small Fringe festivals around the country in the summer of 2010
