Yes. I was beginning to think i couldn't get arrested. The answer - and this is bourne out by others i've spoken to - is to book a holiday! I was offered two auditions for projects that I was really keen to do, one came just an hour and twenty mun...

Is there a sound problem on this showreel or is just my computer?
Hi, I trained in acting ten years ago, though it seems like yesterday and for most of that time my partner and I have worked through our own theatre company. I've had a few ads and was lucky to work at the Millennium Dome for the whole of 2000 but...

Profile Information

What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)
I am a character actress, have sung professionally and if I say so myself, have an impressive and powerful singing voice. I am in Spotlight, subscribe to Starnow and PCR and belong to the new actors book held by The Casting Suite Agency. Not having risen out of the proverbial 'barrel', I work very sporadically!
My Quick CV
Having trained in musical theatre way back when (70's), I did a few minor jobs, acting and rent paying. I then took a career break to raise a family. I came back to the profession three years ago and have built up my CV with a panto, a children's theatre tour, a fringe play, some low budget films , a TV pilot and most recently a lead in a new musical.
The first thing that inspired me in theatre...
The feeling right from about 11 years old that performing gave me. I can only describe it as euphoria! It is still with me today and I just can't get the same joy from anything else.
My favourite theatre something is...
The wonderful feeling of camaraderie that surrounds any production and being with talented people.
The thing that annoys me about our industry...
The terrible snobbery and hierarchial system that prejudices casting pros against unknown actors.

PAINTING A WALL by David Lan 12th May - 6th June 2009 at The Finborough, SW10.

PAINTING A WALL review by Julienne Bannister, aka Jules Kingham.

I heard from a reliable source, that one of the first reviews of Painting a Wall, a revival of a first play by David Lan, written at the age of twenty two and making its debut at The Howff in Chalk Farm in 1974, actually used the well worn phrase ‘watching paint dry’. Naturally, this was used in a derogatory sense by the one and only reviewer so far, who was not impressed with the production. I would like to thank this reviewer n… Continue

URGENT CASTING

ESSENTIAL THEATRE COMPANY based in North London are casting for two MALE roles in their forthcoming production of PLAZA SUITE by Neil Simon. They are in need of two actors of playing age 40 - 50 to play the roles of Jesse Kiplinger and Sam Nash. A sustainable American accent is needed as is a feel for Neil Simon's wry jewish humour. The production will rehearse from early March on ONE or TWO EVENINGS PER WEEK AND SOME SUNDAYS. The show dates are 4 - 8 JUNE.
The catch is there is NO PAY as this i… Continue

London Lite free NewsPaper Article

HI GUYS - TRIED TO POST THIS ON THE FORUM SECTION BUT THE PAGE WENT ALL BLACK AND IS CONSEQUENTLY NOW SITTING ON THE "NAUGHTY" STEP!

I sent an "angry of London" letter to the London Lite newspaper today (yes indeed, nothing better to do) regarding an article in which Sir Peter Hall complains that some young actors in the theatre these days are speaking too softly and cannot be heard by audiences. He attributes this to the fact that young actors make TV and film roles a priority ove
