Shane Dempsey trained at DIT and has an MA in Theatre Directing from East 15 Acting School. During his initial training in Dublin he formed Stagecraft, Clonmel and has been the Artistic Director of the company for the last ten years. In 2008 he co-founded FRAGMENTS, a production hub with bases in London and Ireland. Since graduating he has worked as an assistant director at Tricycle Theatre on The Caretaker and Called To Account, as well on Moonwalking in Chinatown, Soho Theatre. His projects have been staged in Ireland, Belguim, Edinburgh and London. In 2008 he founded Fragments, an International theatre and film production hub. Recent projects include Golden Delilah, (Hackney Empire), the ground breaking documentary Mothers of Modern Ireland and The Bay by Hannah Burke which has played in The Space, London, Te Pooka Edinburgh before transferring to Theatre 503 London. Recent credits include Skin Thin (Soho Theatre), Palestine Monologues (London), Skolka (Ireland, Belgium, London and Edinburgh) Children At War (Ireland), Nunhead 1984 (On location London). Shane was invited in Novemeber by Lev Dodin to observe rehearsals in Paris for the Maly Season and plans to return to Russia in 2010 to research contemporary ensemble practise at The Moscow Arts Theatre and Gitis Institute under invitation from acclaimed director Mikhael Mokeyev. Shane is an associate director with GOLDEN DELILAH.
