Event Description

RESTORATION COMEDY WITH A 1980s TWIST!
310 years after it first premiered at Lincoln Inn’s Fields, ‘a single leaf’ presents Congreve’s ‘THE WAY OF THE WORLD’ in a fast paced, sexy and hedonistic 1980s interpretation.
From flash dances to furious flirting, this bite sized version of the restoration classic promises to entertain and delight anyone wanting a lunchtime pick me up!
The play follows the lovers Mirabell and Millamant. In order for the two to get married and receive Millamant's full dowry, Mirabell must receive the blessing of Millamant's aunt, Lady Wishfort. However, her hatred of Mirabell means she is opposed to it and wants her nephew, Sir Wilful, to marry Millamant. As Mirabell endeavours to trick Lady Wishfort and win Millamant, double crossing, mistaken identities and humour arises.
