What I do... (Actor, director, designer, teacher etc?)
actor, comedy performer, writer, researcher, teacher
My Quick CV
Finally fed up with being at the bottom of the decision heap as an actor and in reality spending far too much time as a market researcher, I turned to comedy in the autumn of 2003. Venues performed at include The Kings Head, Comedy Cafe, Amused Moose Camden, Tattershall Castle, Balham Banana and Ginglik. Last year I reached the final of Funny Women, performing at London's Comedy Store and at The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh. I'm a co-founder of Fluxx Improvisation Theatre and have performed around the UK, in Athens and Amsterdam. I created the children's show The Quest for Fluxx, which premiered at Warwick Arts Centre as part of Shifti in Jan 06. I've also just founded a new production company Livestock, with Chris Johnston. I've done 'blink and miss them' appearances on Sky Digital and Living TV - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UL2OkZWqGs&mode=related&search
The first thing that inspired me in theatre...
being a 'townspeople' in my school play. I was 5.
The thing that annoys me about our industry...
the tunnel vision when it comes to casting, the insistence on dividing actors into leading or character categories and the swamping of the industry by wannabes intent on 'being famous'

Review of Rhinoceros – Royal Court Theatre

Ionesco’s ‘Rhinoceros’ was first staged by The Royal Court in 1960, directed by Orson Welles and starring Laurence Olivier. Dominic Cooke has revived it in a new translation by Martin Crimp. The action takes place in an unspecified French provincial town, where the Sunday morning calm is shattered by a rhinoceros stampeding down the street. Gradually the town is taken over by the pachyderms, as one by one all th

Hi Maggie, I am of the opinion that internet video is the thing of the future. Admitted that at the moment it is open to anyone with access to a camera and the knowhow to upload regardless of any talent they may have, but as a fellow artiste and as someone who has performed at various venues I would like to know what is your opinion of uploading videos to be seen online. Have you uploaded any? If not, is that from choice or because you do not know how to? Or do you consider it a waste of time? You can check out my vids by the way on this site or on You Tube amongst others. Incidentally I won an award at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1993 and all I got out of it were some gigs at Centerparcs. I'd be interested in your comments. Eric.

Hi Maggie, Glad to be in touch. Coincidentally, I am thinking of following your route and trying some comedy. Sketches keep popping into my head. Best for now, Terence
