Sobre el espectáculo

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap plays King’s Theatre, Glasgow on its 75th anniversary UK and Ireland tour, 12–17 April 2027, with Nicholas Bailey and Susan Penhaligon.

The Mousetrap Glasgow tickets are for a one week run at the King’s Theatre, Glasgow, from Monday 12 to Saturday 17 April 2027, as Agatha Christie’s whodunnit continues its 75th anniversary tour. Evenings start at 7.30pm from Monday to Saturday, and matinees are at 2.30pm on Wednesday 14 and Saturday 17 April.

The Mousetrap Glasgow at the King’s Theatre on Bath Street

Few venues suit this play as naturally as the King’s. Designed by Frank Matcham, the greatest theatre architect of his era, it opened in 1904 on the corner of Bath Street and Elmbank Street and seats around 1,785 people across four levels of gilt, plaster and red plush. It was built for drawing room drama and touring stars long before the arrival of the mega musical, and its horseshoe shaped tiers wrap the audience close around the stage. Glaswegians know it best for its pantomime, an unbroken fixture since 1971, but a Christie thriller in a Matcham house is as close to a classic night at the theatre as the city offers.

Mid April in Glasgow often brings the Easter holidays, long light evenings and the buzz of Sauchiehall Street just a few minutes away. The theatre sits on the edge of Charing Cross, handy for the West End’s restaurants on Argyle Street and the bars of Finnieston.

What The Mousetrap is about

The play begins with a radio bulletin about a murder in London. At Monkswell Manor, a remote house turned guesthouse, young owners Mollie and Giles Ralston welcome their first visitors as the snow piles up against the windows. The guests seem ordinary enough, until a detective sergeant arrives on skis and announces that one of them may be next, and one of them may be the killer. Christie’s mechanism is precise and fair, and the twist has been guarded by millions of audience members. Please keep it that way.

The Mousetrap tour cast in Glasgow

Nicholas Bailey, who played Dr Anthony Trueman in EastEnders, is Major Metcalf, and Susan Penhaligon is the domineering Mrs Boyle. Emily Laing plays Mollie Ralston opposite Jack Hardwick as Giles. Thomas Barrett plays the eccentric Christopher Wren, Clare Duffy is Miss Casewell, James Peake is the theatrical Mr Paravicini and Alfie Richards is Detective Sergeant Trotter. Understudies Ben Gresswell, Sophie Lagden, Judith Rae and Darren Ruston complete the company. Direction is by Hannah Chissick and lighting by Nic Farman.

Seats and views for The Mousetrap Glasgow

The four levels at the King’s are steep and close to the stage, so even the upper tiers feel involved. The Stalls and Dress Circle are best for watching expressions, while the Upper Circle and Balcony give a clear overhead view of the set. As in many Edwardian theatres, some side seats have pillars or overhangs, so check any restricted view notes when choosing seats. Our King’s Theatre, Glasgow venue guide has more on seating and accessibility.

The Mousetrap running time and age guidance

The performance lasts about 2 hours 5 minutes including a 20-minute interval. Recommended for ages 7 and over, it offers plenty of tension without anything graphic. Families who know the King’s from its pantomime will find this a natural next step; our Scottish pantomime guide shows how central the theatre is to family theatregoing in the city.

Getting to the King’s Theatre

The theatre is at 297 Bath Street, a short walk from Charing Cross station and around fifteen minutes on foot from Glasgow Central and Queen Street. The St George’s Cross and Cowcaddens subway stations are also within walking distance, and there is parking nearby in the city centre.
