The current London cast features Dylan Wood as Orpheus, Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice (until March 2026), Chris Jarman as Hades, Joy Wielkens as Persephone (from January 2026), and Daniel Breaker as Hermes. The Fates are played by Melanie Bright, Lauran Rae, and Allie Daniel.
Hadestown has music, lyrics, and book by Anaïs Mitchell, developed with and directed by Tony Award-winner Rachel Chavkin. The creative team includes Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Michael Krass (costumes), Bradley King (lighting), David Neumann (choreography), and Nevin Steinberg and Jessica Paz (sound design). It's a National Theatre production.
Hadestown won 8 Tony Awards in 2019, including Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction, and Best Scenic Design. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. The show received 14 Tony nominations - the most of any show that year.
