The Gruffalo is performed by a small ensemble cast who play multiple characters with great energy and invention. Cast varies by performance. The company transforms seamlessly between Mouse, Gruffalo, Fox, Owl, and Snake.

The stage adaptation is created by Tall Stories (artistic directors Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell), based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler. The show is directed by Olivia Jacobs, with set and costume design by Isla Shaw, lighting by James Whiteside, and original music by Jollygoodtunes.
