Hand Made Man with Patrick Grant tickets in Brighton

Hand Made Man with Patrick Grant is a live talk in which the Great British Sewing Bee host explores craft, creativity and the global clothing industry. The evening includes personal stories from his television career and a dedicated audience question-and-answer session, presented at Theatre Royal Brighton.

What the evening covers

Patrick Grant draws on his television career to recount both memorable successes and eleventh-hour calamities from the Sewing Bee workroom. These stories sit alongside a broader argument about how our relationship with clothing has gone wrong: roughly 100 billion garments are produced globally each year, a third of which are never worn, while the equivalent of a bin lorry's worth of clothing is burned or buried every second.

Grant's case is explicitly not one of nostalgia. He frames the problem in personal and economic terms, examining what is lost when price alone determines value and what might be recovered when it is not.

Format and audience participation

The event is a ticketed talk with a dedicated question-and-answer segment, giving the audience the opportunity to put their own queries directly to Grant.
