Matt Richardson hosts Esther Manito, Hal Cruttenden and Eddie Kadi at this BSL-interpreted charity gala. Book tickets.
The Helen & Douglas House Charity Comedy Gala returns to New Theatre Oxford for a one-night-only stand-up event hosted by Matt Richardson, with proceeds supporting local children with life-limiting illnesses. The 2027 edition features Esther Manito, Lindsey Santoro, Hal Cruttenden, Josh Jones and Eddie Kadi, with a live British Sign Language interpreter.
Matt Richardson hosts this charity comedy bill at a single Oxford performance. Richardson began performing stand-up at eighteen and has television credits including Never Mind the Buzzcocks on BBC Two, Roast Battle on Comedy Central and presenting roles on ITV2 and E4, as well as Virgin Radio's Drive Time Show.
Esther Manito moved from teaching into comedy in 2016 and has since appeared on BBC One's Live at the Apollo, ITV's Stand Up Sketch Show and BBC Radio 4. Lindsey Santoro, noted for her Edinburgh Fringe work in 2023, made her television debut on Mel Giedroyc's: Unforgivable. Hal Cruttenden has multiple Live at the Apollo appearances, Have I Got News For You and The Royal Variety Performance among his credits. Josh Jones is an Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee whose sell-out Fringe runs led to a debut UK tour; he also hosts the podcast Dead Drama. Eddie Kadi's high-energy sets have built an international following, and in 2025 he became part of the ITV series I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. The lineup may be subject to change.
All proceeds go to Helen & Douglas House to support families of local children with life-limiting conditions. A live British Sign Language interpreter will accompany the performance. The show runs two hours and thirty minutes and contains strong adult themes and swearing.
