Henry Paker at Theatre Royal Brighton and Glasgow, stand-up with live illustration, 1hr 50min, age 14+. Book tickets.
Henry Paker brings a genre-defying show to Theatre Royal Brighton and Theatre Royal Glasgow, fusing stand-up with live illustration. The show runs 1 hour 50 minutes and carries a 14+ age guidance for some swearing.
The show's framing positions it as another peek behind closed doors, following earlier shows built around a wizard's curtain and a sausage factory, this time focused on a cartoonist's pencil case. Stand-up and illustration are described as running together throughout, with the sources billing the combination as genre-defying.
Paker holds awards across comedy and illustration, with a career taking in television, radio, books and animation. Audiences may know him from The Last Leg or Russell Howard's Good News, or from his writing on Would I Lie To You?, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Mock The Week. His Three Bean Salad podcast and cartoons published in The Times, The Observer, The Spectator and Prospect, and in books including Joe Wilkinson: My Autobiography and Kay's Anatomy, round out a wide-ranging body of work.
The show carries a 14+ age guidance owing to some swearing. The running time is 1 hour 50 minutes.
