Ministry of Science LIVE brings fire tornados, liquid nitrogen clouds and a self-built hovercraft to the stage, ages 6+. Book tickets.
Ministry of Science LIVE – Science Saved The World is a family science show recommended for ages six and over, running approximately one hour and fifty minutes. Presenters take an anarchic approach to science communication, celebrating the scientists, engineers and inventors who have shaped the modern world, with a considerable number of loud bangs along the way.
Presenters explore how scientific discovery continues to shape everyday life, with the material framed around the scientists, engineers and inventors behind the modern world. The format favours spectacle over lecture: demonstrations include twenty-foot liquid nitrogen clouds, exploding oxygen and hydrogen balloons, fire tornados, hydrogen bottle rockets, ignited methane and a self-built hovercraft.
The show also puts forward the idea that every member of the audience has the capacity to contribute to changing the world for the better.
The show carries an age guidance of six and over. It contains loud bangs, explosive effects and fire elements, which families with younger children or those sensitive to sudden noise and bright flashes should consider before booking. The running time of one hour and fifty minutes is worth bearing in mind for younger attendees.
