School of Clowns Course tickets in Brighton

Chris Cresswell leads the School of Clowns Course at Theatre Royal Brighton, using ideas associated with Jacques Lecoq to explore individual comic characters. This is a practical participation course: the group works on theatrical clowning together, with an emphasis on discovering each participant’s own approach.

What the course involves

The course brings ensemble work together with the development of a comic character. ATG welcomes people from several backgrounds, including acting, dance, music, teaching and circus, as well as previous School of Clowns participants. The listing does not specify a universal entry standard; contact the organiser if you are unsure how your experience fits.

ATG describes Cresswell as an Associate Lecturer at Chichester University with responsibility for its clown mask module. His advertised training and performance credits include Ra Ra Zoo, Nola Rae and Theatre de Complicite.
