Sleeping Beauty sensory-friendly panto at Milton Keynes Theatre with Alexandra Burke and Sooty. Explore tickets and booking.
Sleeping Beauty at Milton Keynes Theatre includes a dedicated relaxed performance adapted for audiences with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, sensory sensitivities or very young children. The advertised cast features Alexandra Burke, Richard Cadell, Ceri Dupree and Christopher Biggins.
Princess Aurora falls into an enchanted sleep after being cursed by her wicked aunt and pricking her finger on a magic spinning wheel. The production combines comedy, special effects and pop songs as the story asks whether true love can break the spell.
Alexandra Burke is advertised as Carabosse, Richard Cadell as Joey the Jester alongside puppet characters Sooty and Sweep, Ceri Dupree as panto dame Queen Passionella, and Christopher Biggins as special guest star in the role of the Diva of Dreams.
Several elements are modified for this performance. House lights remain on throughout, flashing lighting effects may be reduced, and loud sound effects or sudden explosions are toned down. Cast members introduce themselves to the audience at the start.
Audience members may move around or make noise without concern, and can leave and re-enter the auditorium as needed. A chill-out area is available for anyone who becomes overwhelmed, additional staff are on hand to assist, and the auditorium opens earlier than usual to allow extra time to settle in.
A visual story containing photographs and information about the theatre and the show is available in advance on request. Contact mkaccess@atgentertainment.com to ask for a copy.
