Stories with Skip Autumn Leaves is a 45-min workshop at Theatre Royal Brighton for ages 2.5 to 4 with sensory play, crafts and storytelling. Book.
Stories with Skip – Autumn Leaves is a 45-minute creative learning workshop at Theatre Royal Brighton for children aged two and a half to four. Each session follows an autumn theme of falling leaves, harvests and animals preparing for winter, moving through the building with sensory play, exploration, a craft activity and a shared story.
The workshop begins in the stalls foyer, where objects linked to the autumn theme are set out for children to see, touch and play with. Families then move into the auditorium, searching, collecting and playing among the seats, before a short craft activity. The session concludes upstairs in a lounge space described as cosy and relaxing, where the story is shared.
Skip the mouse is the mascot for the children's programme and may be spotted during the playing sections, giving small children an extra thread of curiosity to follow.
Both the accompanying adult and the child require a ticket. The session is recommended for ages two and a half to four and is described as relaxed and gentle. Front doors open five minutes before the start time. Each session has a different theme, so families who return will encounter fresh content.
