The Eternal Shame of Sue Perkins tickets and regional UK dates

Sue Perkins brings a solo stand-up show to the stage in The Eternal Shame of Sue Perkins, running one hour and fifty minutes. The material centres on stigma, humiliation and misunderstanding, drawing on her own experiences rather than any television format.

What the show is about

The show draws on a series of mortifying personal episodes: the physical consequences of a pituitary gland malfunction during a live broadcast, a widely misread incident involving a hoover attachment, and the experience of intimate photographs being circulated online. The through-line is the possibility of redirecting shame towards something closer to dignity and joy.

The stories come from behind the cameras rather than in front of them, giving the material a candour distinct from Perkins's television work as a presenter and panellist.

Audience considerations

Both Milton Keynes Theatre and Stockton Globe list an age guidance of 16 and over, reflecting the adult themes around bodily experience, privacy and public humiliation. The running time is one hour and fifty minutes.
