Hadestown tickets and regional UK dates

Hadestown, written by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, begins its first ever UK and Ireland Tour in February 2027. The show weaves together the Greek myth love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice and of King Hades and Persephone, and runs for two hours and thirty minutes.

The show

Two parallel ancient Greek love stories sit at the heart of Hadestown: the romance between the young dreamer Orpheus and Eurydice, and the relationship between the god-king Hades and his wife Persephone, bound together in a journey that descends into the underworld and back.

The production took home eight Tony Awards, among them Best Musical, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album. A Learning Resource Pack is available, which may be of interest to schools and educators.

What to know before you go

Strobe-like effects are used throughout the show at all venues. The age guidance is 8 and above. The touring cast has not yet been announced.

Milton Keynes Central is the nearest railway station, on the London Euston to Birmingham main line. Buses run from outside the station to stops on Midsummer Boulevard by the theatre, and there is a taxi rank outside the station.

Buses run from Milton Keynes Central rail station to stops on Midsummer Boulevard, right outside the theatre. For local timetables use Traveline (traveline.info).

Parking

Several car parks sit close to the theatre and many are free after 6pm. Please note that the multistorey car park at the rear of the building has been closed by Milton Keynes Council. If you are driving, set your sat nav to the street name, Marlborough Gate, rather than the postcode. A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available immediately in front of the theatre on Midsummer Boulevard.
