Bradley Riches and Miss Rory star in this Christmas 2026 panto at Sunderland Empire. Book tickets for The Return of Captain Hook.
The Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook is a brand-new pantomime at Sunderland Empire for Christmas 2026. Peter Pan believed he had defeated Captain Hook for good, but rumours of the villain's survival are spreading and revenge may be coming.
Rather than retelling the familiar tale from the beginning, this production picks up after Hook's apparent defeat. Peace has held, but whispers that Hook survived begin to circulate, drawing Peter and his companions back into conflict. Characters featured include Tinker Bell, Ethel Mermaid and newcomer Emily Darling.
The show includes flying scenes, pirate sword fights, crocodile chases and special effects, alongside audience interaction woven throughout.
Bradley Riches plays Peter Pan. He is known for the role of Lewis Barton in Emmerdale, for which he won a Best Soap Newcomer Award, and for playing James McEwan in Netflix's Heartstopper. Miss Rory, previously seen at Boulevard, returns to Sunderland to play Captain Rorina Hook. Tom Whalley plays Smee.
Olivia Birchenough, a presenter on Channel 5's Milkshake!, is advertised as Ethel Mermaid. Millie Readshaw, known from SIX, plays Tinker Bell. Sophie Bishop joins as Emily Darling.
No age guidance or running time is given in the available information. Families with very young children may wish to contact Sunderland Empire directly before booking. A free teacher resource pack is available for schools, accessible via the link on the production's booking page.
