John Cleese's Fawlty Towers Play Set for Extensive UK and Ireland Tour

Following a highly successful West End run, John Cleese’s Fawlty Towers – The Play is poised to embark on a significant tour across the UK and Ireland from September 2025 to July 2026. The play, adapted for the stage by Cleese himself, brings to life one of the most cherished British sitcoms, capturing the hilarity and chaos of the iconic Torquay hotel managed by the inept Basil Fawlty.
The tour will kick off on 30 September 2025 at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley and will visit numerous cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. It will conclude in July 2026 at the New Theatre in Oxford. Audiences across the UK and Ireland will have the opportunity to experience this comedy masterpiece, which has been lauded as “the funniest show in town” by the Daily Express.

The play intricately weaves together three of the original BBC TV episodes, culminating in a new finale that promises to enhance the theatrical experience. Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger and with set and costume design by Liz Ascroft and lighting by Ian Scott, the production amplifies the comedic essence of the television series for the stage.
