New photos have been released of Lolly Adefope as Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! at the Trafalgar Theatre. The BAFTA nominee is making her West End debut in Cole Escola’s Olivier and Tony Award-winning comedy, and plays the role until Saturday 5 December 2026. Tickets on British Theatre are on sale for performances until 2 January 2027: see Oh, Mary! tickets.

The images, taken by the photographer Manuel Harlan, show Adefope in the title role alongside the cast who joined her when she took over on 28 September. You can read who is in that line-up in our earlier story, Oh, Mary! announces the full cast joining Lolly Adefope.
Lolly Adefope steps into Mary’s shoes
Adefope, best known on television for Ghosts, succeeded Jinkx Monsoon in the role. She is the latest in a run of star Marys at the Trafalgar Theatre, following Escola, Jinkx Monsoon, Mason Alexander Park and Catherine Tate, keeping up the show’s habit of short, starry engagements.
Her stint covers the autumn and runs to 5 December, while the show itself is now booking at the Trafalgar Theatre until 2 January 2027. If you want to catch Adefope in the part, there are around eight weeks left, and you can compare performances on the Oh, Mary! show page.
Who is in the cast?
Joining Adefope for her entire run are Lucy Frederick as Mary’s Chaperone, J.R. Ballantyne as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Vinnie Heaven as Mary’s Teacher and Syrus Lowe as Mary’s Husband. The new photos feature all four alongside Adefope, including scenes between Mary and her husband, her chaperone and her teacher.

What is Oh, Mary! about?
Escola’s riotous comedy reimagines Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks before her husband’s assassination. Here she is a frustrated former performer, unhappily married, fond of a drink and full of suppressed longing. What follows is an unruly, irreverent and very silly alternative history that has become a hit on both sides of the Atlantic.
The play runs for about 80 minutes without an interval, and the show contains strong language and adult content throughout.
The creative team
Oh, Mary! is written by Cole Escola and directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton. Scenic design is by dots, costume design by Holly Pierson and lighting design by Cha See, with sound design and music by Daniel Kluger, sound design by Drew Levy, wig design by Leah J. Loukas and arrangements by David Dabbon. Casting is by Stuart Burt CDG.
The show won the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play, and its London run has been extended into 2027.
Planning your trip
The Trafalgar Theatre is at 14 Whitehall, close to Trafalgar Square, and Charing Cross is the nearest Underground station, around five minutes’ walk away. With no interval, it is worth getting a drink before the show starts.
With Adefope’s final performance on 5 December, autumn dates are where to look if you want to see her as Mary. See Oh, Mary! dates and tickets.
