Following 2021's sell-out success, this Tiger (who is sure he'll be up for the Olivier this year finally, or so we are told) will be on stage from 11 July - 4 September 2022. Of course, no theatre is safe as it seems The Tiger Who Came To Tea Tour will be coming to theatres near you this year.

Hailed as Britain’s best-loved picture book, Judith Kerr’s timeless classic is now in its 54th year, selling over 5 million copies since it was first published in 1968. The stage show premiered in 2008 and has since toured nationally and internationally, including Christmas seasons at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Arts Centre with sold-out dates in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Bahrain. In 2012 the production was nominated for the Olivier Award for ‘Best Family Entertainment’. This year marks its 8th West End season.

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her Mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big furry, stripy tiger! https://youtu.be/82XSZtzeXoc
Bringing the nation’s favourite tea-guzzling tiger to life on stage, this musical slice of teatime mayhem entertains with sing-a-long songs, oodles of magic and interactive fun. It’s the ideal introduction to live theatre for children aged three and above and the perfect summer treat for the whole family.

David Wood is a leading playwright and director of plays and musicals for children having had over 70 plays performed worldwide. His award-winning adult musical, based on L P Hartley’s The Go-Between, co-written with Richard Taylor, opened in the West End in June 2016. In 2006, to celebrate the Queen’s 80th birthday, he wrote The Queen’s Handbag, performed in Buckingham Palace Gardens and seen by 8,000,000 BBC1 viewers. In 2004 he was awarded the OBE for services to drama and literature.

The Tiger Who Came For Tea has a running time of 55 minutes with no interval and is suitable for ages 3+.
