Titanique final weeks: last chance to see it at the Criterion before 3 January 2027

The clock is ticking for Titanique in the West End. Producers Eva Price and Michael Harrison have announced that the Olivier Award-winning musical comedy will play its final performance at the Criterion Theatre on Sunday 3 January 2027, before setting off on its first UK tour. There is one more treat before the ship goes down: etiquette expert and broadcaster William Hanson will return to the role of Ruth from 10 November 2026 until the show’s final performance on 3 January 2027, taking over from Myra DuBois.

When does Titanique close in the West End?

The final West End performance is on Sunday 3 January 2027. That gives London audiences just over three months from now to catch the show at the Criterion, where it opened in January 2025 and went on to win two Olivier Awards: Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Layton Williams.

The closing run takes in the Christmas and New Year period, traditionally the busiest weeks of the West End year. If you want a particular date over the festive fortnight, or a weekend performance in the final weeks, it makes sense to book sooner rather than later. Final performances of long-running comedies tend to draw returning fans and superfans, so the very last shows are likely to be the hardest to get into.

“It has been such a thrill to bring Titaníque to the West End and share this gloriously outrageous show with London audiences,” said Price and Harrison. “We’ve had an incredible time making waves in the West End, and we couldn’t be more excited to now take our Olivier Award winning show on the road.”

William Hanson returns as Ruth for the final weeks

Hanson first boarded the production for a seven-week run as Ruth, the heroine’s formidable mother, and he returns for the closing stretch from 10 November. You can read more about his West End debut in Titanique in our earlier report.

On coming back, Hanson said: “As a great diva once opined, ‘it’s not a comeback, it’s a return’! And one I’m thrilled about. My original seven-week run onboard the RMS Titaníque sailed by only too quickly.” He added that closing “what has been one of my favourite shows on the West End for some time, is an honour and a privilege.”

The current London cast also includes Ailsa Davidson as Rose, Lewis Francis as The Iceberg, Astrid Harris as Céline Dion, Freddie King as Jack, Cameron Vear as Cal, Michael Vinsen as Victor Garber / Luigi and Nikki Wheeldon as Molly Brown, with AJ Lewis, Joi Lurrie and Sophie-Rose Middleton as on-stage background vocalists. Finton Flynn, Josh Lovell and Charlotte Soo are the offstage understudies.

What is Titanique?

Written by Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle and Constantine Rousouli, and directed by Blue, Titanique is an affectionately ridiculous retelling of the 1997 blockbuster film. Céline Dion takes over a tour at a museum dedicated to the doomed liner and tells her own version of what really happened between Jack and Rose, with the help of a string of her greatest hits, including My Heart Will Go On and All By Myself.

It began Off-Broadway as a cult hit before spreading around the world, with productions in New York, Paris, Sydney, Montreal and Toronto. The London version has been one of the West End’s most reliable nights of pure silliness, built around big vocals, quick-fire jokes and a live band.

The show has also made it to Broadway, where Mindelle and Rousouli starred in the New York production until it closed on 20 September 2026. With the Broadway run over and the West End run now counting down, the next few months are the last chance to see the show in a major theatre city before it heads out on tour.

The humour is very much for grown-ups. The show is recommended for ages 14 and over, with no admission for under-12s because of strong language and sexual references, and under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. It is a natural pick for birthday groups, hen parties and anyone who knows every word of My Heart Will Go On and is not ashamed of it.

Titanique after the West End: the first UK tour

The story does not end in January. Titanique’s first UK tour launches at Theatre Royal Newcastle on 17 September 2027, with Myra DuBois reprising the role of Ruth on the road. “I’ve adored playing Ruth in the West End,” she said. “How thrilling to get to spend a few more months with her around the country in this screamingly hilarious show!” Further venues and casting for the tour will be announced later.

The Criterion Theatre is at 218–223 Piccadilly, London W1J 9HT, right on Piccadilly Circus. Piccadilly Circus Underground station is on the doorstep, so it is one of the simplest West End theatres to reach.
