À propos du spectacle

Ballet Black celebrates its 25th anniversary at Sadler’s Wells, 14 to 17 October 2026, with Ingoma and a new work by Hope Boykin.

Ballet Black 25 brings an anniversary double bill to Sadler's Wells from 14 to 17 October 2026. The programme pairs Mthuthuzeli November's Ingoma with Hope Boykin's new …all towards hope.

About the programme

Ingoma takes inspiration from the 1946 South African miners' strike. Boykin's commission marks the company's anniversary and her UK choreographic debut.

Twenty-five years of Ballet Black

Cassa Pancho founded Ballet Black in 2001 to create opportunities for Black and Asian ballet dancers. Commissioning new choreography has remained central to the company's work, giving artists a platform to develop distinctive stories and approaches to classical dance.

Dates and tickets

Performances start at 7.30pm. The running time is approximately 90 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. Check the official Sadler's Wells listing for current audience advice.
