Blackout at Theatre Royal Brighton is an immersive horror play, strictly 15+, featuring haze, flashing lights and sudden darkness. Book tickets.
Blackout is an immersive horror play at Theatre Royal Brighton in which a small cast holds a late-night rehearsal inside a theatre with an unsettling reputation. Running for 1 hour 50 minutes, it is strictly for audiences aged 15 and over.
The setup is a rehearsal that should be routine, held in a theatre already associated with whispered stories and half-remembered warnings. Once the doors close, something shifts and what begins as fiction starts to feel dangerously real, with movement, sound and shadow used to pull audiences deeper into the action rather than keep them at a comfortable remove.
Unnerving twists and sudden changes in the environment are central to how the story unfolds. The source describes it as a play that places audiences inside the experience rather than in front of it.
The 15+ age guidance is a firm requirement, not a parental recommendation. The production uses haze effects, flashing lights, loud noises, sudden darkness and horror elements. Anyone with sensitivities to any of these should consider that carefully before booking.
These are the dates listed by ATG as checked on 21 September 2026. A date range may contain selected performances, rather than a show every day. Open your chosen venue link for exact times, seats and current prices.
