Andrew Maxwell's new stand-up show On Edge comes to Norman Bragg Studio, Aylesbury, anxious comedy spanning domestic life to global worry. Book tickets.
Andrew Maxwell brings his brand-new stand-up show On Edge to the Norman Bragg Studio in Aylesbury. The show draws on an endless supply of stressors, from global events to finding free parking, and from perimenopause to hanging a wine-rack.
On Edge is built around the idea that modern life never runs short of things to worry about. Andrew's material moves between large-scale anxieties and small domestic frustrations, including a wife going through perimenopause, two teenage children, and the particular ordeal of a practical household task. The premise is that no stressor, however trivial, feels trivial when you are already on edge.
The show arrives after a support slot on Russell Howard's national tour, which included four consecutive nights at The London Palladium. He has previously supported Rob Brydon, Rhod Gilbert, Troy Hawke, and Michael McIntyre across a full arena tour that included Wembley and the O2, and appeared with Brian Regan and Michelle Wolfe on their only London dates. At the UK Comedy Awards 2023 he was voted Comic's Comic, Best Act. He was one of only seven comedians to perform at Banksy's Dismaland, and has writing credits on a recent series of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
