Work In Theatre 2-Day Course is a creative learning programme run by ATG INSPIRE at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre for young people aged 13 to 18. Across two days it introduces backstage and non-performance theatre careers, covering sound, lighting, technical skills and theatre management.

What the course covers

Each day runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm, giving participants a five-hour session. The programme introduces non-performance careers in theatre, including sound, lighting, technical skills and venue management, and includes a technical theatre tour so attendees encounter professional equipment and spaces directly.

First-hand accounts of different career pathways form part of the programme, giving young people a clearer picture of how to move from interest into employment.

Safeguarding and bursary places

All ATG INSPIRE assistants hold a DBS check, and a pastoral assistant remains present throughout both days. The booking covers both days; check the current fee before choosing a place.
