The Wittering Whitehalls: Recollections May Vary is a brand new live show from Michael Whitehall and Hilary Whitehall, and it will tour the UK in spring 2027. Inspired by the couple's hit podcast, the tour opens at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford on Sunday 7 March and ends at the Grand Theatre in Lancaster on Friday 21 May, with 27 dates in all.

A presale for the tour's mailing list opens on Thursday 29 October at 10am, and general sale follows on Friday 30 October at 10am.

Fifty years of anecdotes, with a fact checker

Audiences are promised hilarious anecdotes, playful marital bickering and wonderfully unpredictable exchanges. Michael looks back on his fifty years in show business, including his later life career as sidekick to his son, the comedian Jack Whitehall, across five series of their Netflix show Travels With My Father.

He is, the announcement admits, prone to confabulation, so Hilary will be there as fact checker, correcting any false memories.

Expect a riotous trip down memory lane, with behind the scenes revelations, family stories and witty sparring between husband and wife. In a joint statement, Michael and Hilary said: "We can't wait to take our witterings back on the road even if our recollections may vary."

The podcast and the couple behind it

The Whitehalls launched The Wittering Whitehalls in 2022. The podcast, made by Global, has had more than 5 million downloads. In it, Hilary and Michael share candid and comical reflections on life, marriage, parenting and grandparenting.

They are no strangers to the stage. In 2024 all three Whitehalls premiered The Whitehalls Live at the New York Comedy Festival at Carnegie Hall, followed by a sold out tour of the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In 2025 Michael and Hilary took The Wittering Whitehalls: Barely Alive on its first live UK tour, which ended with a sold out show at Richmond Theatre.

Michael started out as a talent agent, representing actors including Colin Firth, Dame Judi Dench and Richard E Grant, before producing drama for ITV. He and Jack made the BBC Two chat show Backchat before their Netflix travelogue ran from 2017 to 2021, and Fatherhood with My Father followed in 2024. His memoir, Shark Infested Waters, was reissued this year.

Hilary began her career as an actress, with screen credits including Fierce Creatures, The Bill, Miranda and three series of Bad Education. She also voiced Miss Petunia in the children's animated series Moley.
