ATG INSPIRE Academy Sunderland tickets in Sunderland

ATG INSPIRE Academy Sunderland is a weekly performing arts programme for young people aged 6 to 18, held at Sunderland Empire. Each three-hour session covers acting, singing, dance and performance professionalism, and is open to all abilities with no prior experience necessary.

What the Academy offers

Sessions guide participants through musical theatre craft, developing confidence, teamwork and presentation skills alongside creative work. Classes can be tailored to accommodate a range of needs.

The Academy advertises weekly fees paid half-termly. Families can ask about the current fee and a no-obligation taster session through SunderlandINSPIRE@atgentertainment.com.

Practical information for families

The three-hour weekly session length is worth factoring into travel and collection plans. Attendance is ongoing and fee-based, so this is a regular commitment rather than a one-off event.

Sunderland is the nearest station and sits within a 10 minute walk of the theatre. The Tyne and Wear Metro also serves the city, and travel is free for up to two hours before and after the performance on production of a valid show ticket.

Bus

Bus routes passing the theatre include the 3, 11, 12, 24, 53, 77a, 88, 91, 139, 159 and 453.

Parking

The closest car park is The Bridges multi-storey, although its rooftop level has limited opening hours so it is worth checking before you set off. St Mary's and Riverside car parks are also close by. Blue Badge holders will find limited parking outside the Fire Station near the theatre, along with a drop-off area, and disabled bays on Paley Street, reached by following the one-way system along the left-hand side of the building. Traffic and parking are much busier on match days, so allow extra time.
