Mr Sleepybum's Dream Machine at Norman Bragg Studio Aylesbury: Jody Kamali's award-winning kids comedy sequel, 45 mins of slapstick for ages 3-8. Book tickets.
Mr Sleepybum's Dream Machine brings character comedian Jody Kamali's creation back to the Norman Bragg Studio in Aylesbury for a brand-new 45-minute show. Unable to dream, Mr Sleepybum builds a machine that conjures dinosaurs, robots and car chases, wrapping the chaos in slapstick, sketches and the world's largest blanket.
This sequel, created and performed by Jody Kamali, centres on a specific problem: Mr Sleepybum cannot dream. His invented machine becomes the engine of the show, unleashing a succession of silly scenarios including dinosaurs, robots and car chases. The format is interactive children's comedy, mixing physical slapstick with audience participation throughout.
The Mr Sleepybum character debuted in 2023 with a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe, followed by a UK tour including a 12-show off-West End run. The production won Best Kids Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival / UK Kids Comedy Festival 2025, received nominations at Brighton Fringe 2025 and Buxton Fringe 2023, and appeared in both Time Out's best children's shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024 and The Scotsman's top ten children's comedy picks for the same year.
The show is ideally suited for children aged 3 to 8 and runs for 45 minutes. The interactive and slapstick format means children are encouraged to engage rather than sit quietly.
