Il West Yorkshire Playhouse e Music and Lyrics Limited hanno annunciato che nel 2016 porteranno in tour una nuova produzione dell’amato musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Basato sul classico romanzo di Ian Fleming e sul celebre film omonimo, lo spettacolo vanta un’iconica partitura degli Sherman Brothers che include la canzone del titolo candidata all’Oscar.
Questa produzione di Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sarà diretta da James Brining, Direttore Artistico del West Yorkshire Playhouse, con le coreografie di Stephen Mear e il design della produzione di Simon Higlett.
Caractacus Potts sarà interpretato da Jason Manford (The Producers, Sweeney Todd) dal 10 febbraio al 24 aprile, e tornerà nello spettacolo dal 5 ottobre 2016. Lee Mead (Casualty, Legally Blonde, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) interpreterà Caractacus Potts dal 4 maggio al 18 settembre 2016. Martin Kemp (EastEnders, The Krays) vestirà i panni del Childcatcher e Amy Griffiths (Everyman, Stephen Ward, The Pajama Game) sarà Truly Scrumptious, entrambi fino al 24 aprile 2016. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang vedrà inoltre Phill Jupitus (The Producers, Hairspray) nel ruolo di Lord Scrumptious/Baron Bomburst fino al 24 aprile 2016, Michelle Collins (EastEnders, Coronation Street) come Baroness Bomburst e Andy Hockley (The Phantom Of The Opera) come Grandpa Potts.
Ewen Cummins interpreta The Toymaker/Mr Coggins, con Sam Harrison nel ruolo di Boris e Scott Paige in quello di Goran, insieme a Kathryn Barnes, Rosanna Bates, Alex Louize Bird, Abigail Climer, Jade Davies, Matt Gillett, Ewan Gillies, Joanna Goodwin, Nathan Vaughan Harris, Christopher D Hunt, Paul Iveson, Nia Jermin, Kelsie-Rae Marshall, Mollie Melia-Redgrave, Perry O’Dea, Matt Overfield, Ross Russell, Craig Turner e Robert Wilkes.
