From The Heart, Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black’s celebration of a lifetime in song, is into its final week at the Garrick Theatre. The strictly limited run of 15 performances began on Thursday 8 October and ends on Sunday 18 October 2026, and new production photos from the stage show the five-strong cast in full flight. If you want to catch it before it goes, there are still dates left: From The Heart tickets.

A tribute to the songs that shaped a career
The show is Black’s personal tribute to the New York cabaret scene that inspired his career. Across more than five decades he has written words for film, television and theatre, including five James Bond themes, and this evening gathers the songs, stories and collaborations that have defined his working life.
Brand new songs, written with composers including Gary Barlow, Natasha Bedingfield, David Arnold, Debbie Wiseman and Mike Batt, sit alongside the classics that made his name. A different surprise special guest joins the cast at every performance, and the night builds to a medley that takes in Born Free, Ben, Love Changes Everything, With One Look, To Sir With Love and As If We Never Said Goodbye. There is also a salute to his long history with Bond, from Diamonds Are Forever and Thunderball to The Man With The Golden Gun and The World Is Not Enough.
The cast and creative team
Olivier Award nominee Frances Mayli McCann and EastEnders favourite Shona McGarty lead the cast alongside Caroline O’Connor, Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe and two-time Olivier Award nominee Michael D. Xavier.
Nick Winston directs, with musical direction by Joe Church and arrangements and musical supervision by Nick Barstow. This staging was refined and expanded after acclaimed concert performances in 2025, and it is the most ambitious version of the show so far.

Photos from the stage
The photographs, taken by Eamonn B Shanahan, were released on 8 October to mark the start of the run. They show a stage framed by vintage studio lamps and rows of footlights, with the band visible behind the performers and a director’s chair bearing Black’s name at the side. Shafts of gold and blue light pick out the singers, and the mood moves between intimate cabaret and full ensemble numbers.

When are the last performances of From The Heart?
The final performance is on Sunday 18 October 2026. After this weekend there are no shows on Monday 12 or Tuesday 13 October. Performances then run from Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18 October, with evening shows at 7.30pm and 3pm matinees on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
How long is the show, and who is it for?
The show runs for about 80 minutes with no interval, so plan to arrive in plenty of time. It is recommended for ages 8 and over. The Garrick Theatre is at 2 Charing Cross Road, a short walk from Leicester Square Underground station.
