더 걸스는 게리 발로와 팀 퍼스가 만든 신작 뮤지컬로, 영화 및 이후 연극으로 제작된 <캘린더 걸스>를 바탕으로 합니다. <캘린더 걸스>의 오리지널 각본은 팀 퍼스와 줄리엣 토히디가 집필했습니다.
요크셔의 라이얼스톤 및 지역 여성협회(Women's Institute) 소속 12명의 여성의 실화를 바탕으로 한 작품으로, 더 걸스의 모든 공연 수익은 영국에서 혈액암 퇴치를 위해 활동하는 자선단체 Bloodwise를 지원하는 데 보탬이 됩니다. Bloodwise에 대해 더 알아보세요.
그의 뮤지컬 버전 <파인딩 네버랜드>는 이미 브로드웨이에서 공연됐고(영국 공연도 곧 예정), 더 걸스는 영국에서 무대에 올리는 그의 첫 오리지널 창작 뮤지컬입니다. 저희는 게리를 눈여겨보고 있는데요, 머지않아 웨스트엔드에서 세 편의 뮤지컬을 동시에 올리게 될 거라는 데 한 표 겁니다!
