Dead Lies Tour - The world premiere of a scandalous thriller penned by acclaimed crime novelist Hilary Bonner announced from September 2021.
The UK tour of Dead Lies will open at the QueenQueen’s Theatre, Barnstaple prior to its first National Tour. A poignant choice of theatre to premiere the new thriller as much of the action within the play takes place in North Devon, which by no coincidence happens to be the birthplace of playwright and author Hilary Bonner.
Dead Lies is directed by Joe Harmston (The Lover and The Collection Donmar Warehouse; The Father Belgrade Theatre, Coventry). The cast includes Clive Mantle (Casualty, Holby City, Game of Thrones), Harriet Thorpe (Absolutely Fabulous, Wicked), John Lyons (A Touch of Frost, The Mousetrap), Jacqueline Leonard (Coronation Street), Patrick Pearson The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Ashford Campbell (9 to 5 the Musical, Dreamgirls, The X Factor).
When asked to comment on making her theatrical debut Bonner enthused “I am absolutely thrilled that Dead Lies is to be staged by one of the most dynamic and progressive production companies in British theatre. And having a director of Joe HarmstonHarmston’s calibre onboard is a gift from the Gods. To tell the truth, I’m more than a little overwhelmed".
Expect the unexpected! Bonner leads us into a world of political intrigue, sexual indiscretions, scandal and murder as we delve into the past where skeletons are buried and secrets are revealed. Can anyone be trusted? Is anyone safe? Only time will tell!
