Everybody's Talking About Jamie 10th Anniversary UK Tour Cast

Ashcon Rahmani makes his professional stage debut as Jamie New, with Olivier Award-winner Rebecca Trehearn as Margaret New, as producer Nica Burns confirms the full company for the 10th-anniversary UK tour of Everybody's Talking About Jamie. Kelle Bryan and Joanne Clifton share Miss Hedge across the route, while Divina De Campo plays Hugo / Loco Chanelle. The Sheffield Theatres production opens at Leeds Grand Theatre from 15 to 23 January 2027, a decade after the musical first premiered at the Sheffield Crucible, and brings a brand-new song by composer Dan Gillespie Sells and writer Tom MacRae.

Rahmani, Trehearn and the shared Miss Hedge schedule

Rahmani, originally from Rotherham and a recent graduate of The Urdang Academy, steps into the title role after intensive musical-theatre training. Playing opposite him is Trehearn, whose stage credits include an Olivier Award for her Belle in Show Boat at Sheffield Theatres, plus Fantine in Les Misérables, Donna/Oolie in City of Angels and work at the Old Vic, Curve and Birmingham Rep.

Bryan, known to television audiences from Eternal and Loose Women, plays Miss Hedge from the Leeds opening through to Southampton (15 January to 8 May 2027 on the published schedule). Clifton, the Strictly Come Dancing champion and musical-theatre performer, takes over Miss Hedge from Cheltenham through to Newcastle (10 May to 24 July 2027). De Campo, a RuPaul's Drag Race UK favourite, joins as Hugo / Loco Chanelle, the glamorous mentor figure who helps Jamie find the courage to step into the spotlight.

Bryan called the role "relatable, relevant and heartfelt, but also fun and full of sass," adding that she cannot wait to "step into Miss Hedge's fabulous red shoes." Clifton described Miss Hedge as "a casting dream" for the show's tenth anniversary. De Campo said Jamie's story "has impacted audiences world-over for a decade" and that she is excited "to bring Loco Chanelle into a new and glittering light."

Producer Nica Burns welcomed Bryan, Clifton and De Campo alongside Rahmani and Trehearn, calling Everybody's Talking About Jamie "a brilliant, uplifting musical for all" that has played to audiences from all walks of life around the world.

Music is by Gillespie Sells, with book and lyrics by MacRae, from an idea by Jonathan Butterell, who originally directed the production. The anniversary tour is directed by Matt Ryan, based on Butterell's original staging, with design by Anna Fleischle, choreography by Kate Prince, lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound design by Paul Groothuis, musical supervision by Theo Jamieson and casting by Will Burton.

Alongside the familiar score, Gillespie Sells and MacRae have written a brand-new song for this anniversary outing. The producers have not yet published the song's title, but the addition underlines the pitch that Jamie is coming home to UK stages again for what Burns has framed as possibly the last major tour of the show.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie follows 16-year-old Jamie New, who lives on a Sheffield council estate and dreams of becoming a drag queen. Supported by his mum Margaret and his friends, he faces prejudice and schoolyard pressure before choosing to step out of the darkness and into the spotlight. The musical draws on the documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, which followed Jamie Campbell and his mother Margaret, while fictionalising characters and events for the stage.

After opening at Sheffield's Crucible in 2017, the show transferred to the Apollo Theatre in the West End, ran through a record-breaking residency until 2021, won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical in 2018, and later toured the UK and Ireland more than once.
