8 March 2027 to 29 March 2027 (selected dates)
Edinburgh Playhouse Backstage Tours let you explore the stage and wings, with a drink and pastry included. Book via ATG Inspire for full details.
Edinburgh Playhouse opens up its working theatre through guided Backstage Tours. The advertised visit includes a drink and pastry at Little Picardy, as well as an opportunity to explore behind the curtain, subject to the theatre’s working requirements.
Guides take visitors into areas of the theatre that audiences do not normally access, including the stage itself. The experience is shaped by whichever production is in residence at the time, so the backstage environment will vary between tour dates.
Backstage and stage access is subject to availability on the day and cannot be guaranteed. Routes may change at short notice, and tours can be cancelled if the resident company requires the space for rehearsals or other production needs.
The tour involves stairs and narrow corridors. The source advises wearing comfortable clothing and suitable shoes. Anyone with access requirements, including those accompanied by a guide dog or a carer, is asked to contact edinburghinspire@atgentertainment.com before attending.
Visitors under 18 must be supervised by an adult throughout. The bar refreshment included with your ticket is valid only on the day of your tour. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Private and school group tours are also available by arrangement.
These are the dates listed by ATG as checked on 21 September 2026. A date range may contain selected performances, rather than a show every day. Open your chosen venue link for exact times, seats and current prices.
