Edinburgh Playhouse Choir meets every Tuesday from 12:00 to 14:00 in the Boards Bar at Edinburgh Playhouse. Open to anyone aged 18 or over, no experience is necessary. Sessions cover a range of songs, including numbers from shows.
Sessions are led by Hannah Ferrier Baker, a performer and teacher with 18 years of professional experience across organisations including SJM Creative, Edinburgh Acting School, Stagecoach Edinburgh and Fischy Music. She is also Edinburgh Playhouse's voice artist on the Musical Makers course. Each two-hour session draws on a wide repertoire.
A break within each session gives participants time to chat with fellow members. Those wishing to try before committing are welcome to attend a taster session.
Members receive Edinburgh Playhouse Choir merchandise, a discount at the venue's bar Little Picardy, access to a backstage tour, and the opportunity to rehearse on the main stage. The group has performed at events across Edinburgh including the Christmas light switch-on, St James Quarter and Usher Hall, with further opportunities planned.
