Musical Makers at Edinburgh Playhouse: an 18+ weekly workshop blending musical theatre dance and singing. Book individual or block sessions.
Musical Makers is a weekly musical theatre workshop for adults aged 18 and over, held at Edinburgh Playhouse in its Boards Bar space and on stage. Each two-and-a-half-hour session focuses on a single musical, combining an hour of dance with an hour of songs before participants bring both disciplines together.
Each session is led by two specialist tutors. Jo Richards, a dance teacher and choreographer working professionally since 2005, leads an hour of movement drawn from the week's chosen musical. Hannah Ferrier-Baker, who has performed and taught continuously for eighteen years and has worked with organisations including SJM Creative and Edinburgh Acting School, then takes the group through an hour of songs from the same show. The final portion brings both disciplines together.
Sessions run from 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm and are held in the Boards Bar Space and on the Edinburgh Playhouse stage, though the specific workshop area is subject to change on any given night.
The advertised options are an individual session or a block of nine sessions charged at the equivalent of eight. Check current prices before choosing a booking option. Creative Learning tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
There is no wheelchair or lift access to these workshops. Anyone with access requirements is encouraged to contact the team at edinburghcreative@theambassadors.com before booking.
