Sounds of the 60s Live hosted by Tony Blackburn OBE: a 2hr 50min concert of 1960s hits touring UK theatres in 2026. Explore tickets and compare tour dates.
Sounds of the 60s Live is a live concert tour hosted by Tony Blackburn OBE, adapting his long-running BBC Radio 2 programme into a stage show featuring live music and stories from the 1960s at theatres across the UK.
The show is a live stage adaptation of Tony Blackburn's BBC Radio 2 Sounds of the 60s programme, with Blackburn himself hosting rather than performing. Live music is performed by a band and singers, working through medleys and tracks from the decade alongside anecdotes and context from the era.
The setlist draws on artists including The Rolling Stones, The Walker Brothers, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Stevie Wonder, among others, with a particular focus on soul music. The listed running time is two hours and fifty minutes.
Blackburn began broadcasting in 1964 on pirate station Radio Caroline and went on to become the first voice heard on BBC Radio 1 when it launched in 1967. His career has earned him 37 industry awards, including two Gold Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Radio, received in 1989 and 2014, making him the only person to receive that honour twice. He also holds a Sony Award for Best Breakfast Show in 1993 and the Radio Academy's Music and Media Award from 1997.
Beyond radio, he won the first series of ITV's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2002 and has appeared on BBC One's The One Show and BBC Morning Live.
