Robin Smith leads Tubular Bells I in full plus sections of II and III and Moonlight Shadow live. Check tickets for this UK tour.
The Best of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells I II & III is a live concert in which an expansive ensemble, led by Grammy-nominated musical director Robin Smith, performs the entirety of Tubular Bells I alongside extended sections of Tubular Bells II and III, and the hit single Moonlight Shadow.
The programme draws on all three albums in Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells trilogy, which spans 27 years: the original, created in 1971 and released in 1973; Tubular Bells II, released in 1992; and Tubular Bells III, released in 1998. Tubular Bells I is performed in its entirety. Tubular Bells II and III are represented through extended sections rather than complete performances, and Moonlight Shadow is included as a standalone single.
Moving lights are used during the production. The ATG listings confirm there is no strobe lighting.
Robin Smith, who has collaborated with Mike Oldfield for more than three decades, leads and arranges the music for an expansive live group. Smith studied Composition at the Royal College of Music and served as principal pianist of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra before his long association with Oldfield began. His conducting credits alongside Oldfield include performances at Edinburgh Castle, Horse Guards Parade, and the 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, at which the excerpt Far Above the Clouds from Tubular Bells III was featured.
Children under eight are not admitted. Audience members aged eight to fifteen must be accompanied by an adult aged eighteen or over.
