The Story of Guitar Heroes tickets in Folkestone

The Story of Guitar Heroes is a tribute concert tracing five decades of electric guitar, from 1950s rock 'n' roll to the modern era. Its 10th Anniversary tour visits Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone, using 37 authentic guitars to recreate the sounds of legends including Hank Marvin, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Brian May and Slash.

What the show covers

Rather than focusing on a single artist, the concert maps lead guitar across several decades, drawing on material associated with figures such as Jimmy Page, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi and Van Halen, among others, making the programme unusually wide in scope for a tribute-format show.

The 37-guitar approach

Each of the 37 instruments is chosen to replicate the tonal character associated with a specific artist, rather than relying on a single guitar throughout. The production bills this musicianship and attention to period-accurate equipment as central to its approach.
