About the show
Aaron Sorkin's acclaimed stage version of Harper Lee's novel, starring Richard Coyle as Atticus Finch, plays a limited season at Wyndham's Theatre.
Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel returns to the West End in Aaron Sorkin's celebrated stage adaptation, playing a strictly limited season at Wyndham's Theatre. Richard Coyle leads the company as Atticus Finch in a production directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher.
What is To Kill a Mockingbird about?
Set in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama, during the Great Depression, the story follows lawyer Atticus Finch as he defends Tom Robinson, a Black man falsely accused of a serious crime. Seen partly through the eyes of Atticus's young daughter Scout, it weaves together courtroom drama, family life and the slow loss of childhood innocence. Sorkin's version sharpens the questions at the novel's heart, asking what moral courage really costs in a community that would rather look away.
Who stars in To Kill a Mockingbird?
Richard Coyle returns as Atticus Finch, a role he first played to acclaim in the earlier West End run. He is joined by Anna Munden as Scout, Gabriel Scott as Jem and Dylan Malyn as Dill, with Aaron Shosanya as Tom Robinson, Oscar Pearce as Bob Ewell and Stephen Boxer as Judge Taylor. Aaron Sorkin, the writer behind The West Wing and A Few Good Men, adapts Lee's novel, and Bartlett Sher directs. Casting is confirmed ahead of the run and can change during the season.
