ATG Inspire's Work in Theatre Week at Edinburgh Playhouse offers costume, make-up and directing workshops for ages 14 to 18, including Jersey Boys. Book today.
Work in Theatre Week is a five-day creative learning programme at Edinburgh Playhouse for young people aged 14 to 18, delivered through ATG Inspire. Participants work directly with industry professionals across costume, technical production, acting, directing, set design, front of house, and specialist make-up, with the week structured around the venue's live production of Jersey Boys.
Each day runs from approximately 10:30am to 4:00pm, with later finishes on days that include a show. The provisional schedule opens with a backstage tour and a Q&A with the Edinburgh Playhouse technical team, before moving into hands-on workshops covering costume, special effects make-up, acting, and directing. A set design session and a front of house shadowing shift during a matinee performance are also included, alongside two opportunities to watch Jersey Boys.
The programme combines practical workshops with industry talks and Q&A sessions, so participants hear from working professionals about a breadth of career routes rather than focusing on performance alone.
Check the current programme fee before booking. Bursary places and payment plans are available for those who need them; interested families should contact Edinburgh Playhouse directly to discuss options.
ATG Inspire tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. The workshops are not accessible by wheelchair or lift. Anyone with access requirements is encouraged to contact edinburghinspire@atgentertainment.com in advance so the team can discuss what support may be possible.
These are the dates listed by ATG as checked on 21 September 2026. A date range may contain selected performances, rather than a show every day. Open your chosen venue link for exact times, seats and current prices.
