Go behind the scenes at Grand Opera House York on the Venue History Tour, auditorium, backstage areas, archive material and a drink included. Book in advance.
The Venue History Tour at Grand Opera House York takes visitors behind the scenes of one of the city's most storied theatres, exploring the auditorium, backstage areas, and archive material connected to performers including Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Morecambe & Wise, and Jodie Comer. Tickets must be booked in advance; this is not a performance.
The tour moves through both public and backstage spaces at the Grand Opera House York, including the auditorium and areas not ordinarily accessible to audiences. Archive material is available to browse throughout. Each ticket includes a hot or soft drink at the conclusion of the tour.
The route involves a number of stairs and may vary on the day. Anyone with access requirements is encouraged to contact the venue at yorkinspire@atgentertainment.com before booking so that appropriate support can be arranged. Private tours and group bookings are also available through the same address. Tickets cannot be purchased on the door, so advance booking is essential.
