About the show

Guided 90-minute tour of Opera House Manchester's auditorium and restricted areas, book in advance through ATG INSPIRE.

Opera House Theatre Tour tickets in Manchester

The Opera House Manchester, which opened in 1912, offers guided tours of its auditorium and restricted areas led by an ATG INSPIRE guide. Each session lasts approximately ninety minutes and tickets must be booked in advance.

What the tour covers

This is a venue tour and does not include a show ticket or performance. Visitors explore the auditorium and gain access to areas not normally open to the public, with the guide sharing stories from the theatre's history and allowing time for questions.

The meeting point is the Main Entrance. Doors open at 11am sharp and latecomers may not be admitted, so arriving five minutes before the start time is advised. Access to backstage and other restricted areas depends on operational availability on the day and cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Access and practical considerations

The tour route involves a considerable number of stairs and there is no lift access at the Opera House. Routes may also change on the day. Anyone with access requirements is encouraged to contact the INSPIRE Team before booking, either by phone on 01612 456 635 or by email at ManchesterINSPIRE@atgentertainment.com, so the team can discuss how best to support their visit.

Choosing your tickets

Start with the venue and date that suit your trip, then compare the seats offered by ATG. Check the final total, any restricted-view information and the ticket conditions before paying. Availability and prices can change; the listed run dates do not guarantee seats for every performance.

ATG lists a running time of 1 hour 30 minutes. Confirm the performance time and any interval information when booking.

Plan your theatre visit

Our venue guides cover getting there, seating and access information: Manchester Opera House. If you need accessible seating or an assisted performance, check the arrangements for that venue and date with ATG before booking.

Tickets are sold by ATG Tickets, which handles checkout and booking support. British Theatre may earn a commission from the affiliate links on this page.
