An Orchestral Tribute to Tim Burton & Dark Fantasy by Moonlight: 18-piece live concert, age 8+, 1hr 40mins, strobe lighting. Book tickets.
An Orchestral Tribute to Tim Burton & Dark Fantasy by Moonlight is a live concert in which the Illuminated Orchestra, eighteen classically trained musicians joined by live vocalists, performs film scores from Tim Burton's gothic films and wider dark fantasy cinema beneath the glow of a giant moon.
The programme runs approximately 75 minutes and draws on eleven titles spanning Burton's gothic output and broader dark fantasy cinema. Burton films featured include The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Batman, Beetlejuice, and Sleepy Hollow. The programme also takes in Labyrinth, Wednesday, and The Addams Family. The Illuminated Orchestra has no affiliation with any of the films or their composers; this is an independent tribute, not an official or composer-sanctioned concert.
The concert comes from the producers behind The Best of Hans Zimmer & Film Favourites Illuminated, and is a brand-new production.
Both listed venues carry an age recommendation of 8 and above. Total running time is 1 hour 40 minutes, which extends beyond the 75-minute musical programme. The production contains strobe lighting; anyone with a sensitivity to flashing lights should take that into account before booking.
