Una versione irriverente di Amleto arriva al TheatreN16

Izabella Urbanowicz in Gertrude - The Cry Il Gertrude - The Cry di Howard Barker sarà presentato al Theatre N16, in co-produzione con LWL Entertainment Ltd, dal 12 al 30 giugno 2016.

Combinando femminismo, sesso e oggettivazione in una rilettura personale dell’Amleto di Shakespeare, il Gertrude di Howard Barker è uno spettacolo complesso, impegnativo e decisamente osceno.

La protagonista Gertrude sarà interpretata da Izabella Urbanowicz (Truth and Reconciliation, Royal Court Theatre; The Session, Soho Theatre; Hamlet Peckham, The Bussey Building; What You Will: Pop Up Shakespeare, Shakespeare’s Globe; e The Crimson Petal and the White (BBC/Origin Pictures)). Attualmente è anche in scena in I’m Not Jesus Christ al Theatre N16. Nel cast figurano inoltre Alexander Hulme (Abominations, Etcetera Theatre, e The Glass Protégé, Park Theatre) nel ruolo di Claudio, Jamie Hutchins (Hello Norma Jeane, Park Theatre) come Amleto, Stephen Oswald (Nobody’s Business, King’s Head Theatre) come Cascan, LJ Reeves (Antigone, The Hope Theatre) come Ragusa, David Zachary (The Kissing Dance, Ye Olde Rose and Crowne Theatre) come Albert e Liza Keast nel ruolo di Isola, nota soprattutto per le sue regolari esibizioni di cabaret al Crazy Coqs, al Pheasantry, al Cellar Door, al Leicester Square Lounge e al Battersea Barge.
