About the show

Christine Baranski makes her West End debut opposite Richard E. Grant in Noel Coward's comedy Hay Fever, a strictly limited season at Wyndham's Theatre.

Hay Fever at Wyndham's Theatre

Christine Baranski makes her long-awaited West End debut as the magnificently self-dramatising Judith Bliss in Noel Coward's Hay Fever, opposite Richard E. Grant as her novelist husband David. Emily Burns directs Coward's 1925 comedy for a strictly limited season at Wyndham's Theatre in the heart of London's West End.

What is Hay Fever about?

Over one gloriously catastrophic summer weekend, the bohemian Bliss family gather at their riverside house and each of them, without telling the others, invites a guest to stay. What follows is a masterclass in bad behaviour. The four Blisses are so busy performing for one another that their bewildered visitors are swept up in parlour games, sudden romances and staged rows, until quietly fleeing feels like the only sane option left. Coward called it a comedy of appalling manners, and Judith Bliss remains one of the great comic leading roles in the English repertoire.

Who stars in Hay Fever?

Two-time Tony and Emmy winner Christine Baranski, known to screen audiences from The Good Fight, The Good Wife and The Gilded Age, leads the company as Judith. Academy Award nominee Richard E. Grant, unforgettable in Withnail and I and more recently Saltburn, returns to the West End stage as David Bliss. Full casting is confirmed ahead of the run, and casts can change across a season.
