Debbie McGee will play Miss Lynch in the new UK and Ireland tour of Grease, producer Colin Ingram announced on Tuesday 29 September 2026. The tour opens at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on Friday 23 April 2027, and further casting is yet to be announced.
The announcement also adds Dublin, Blackpool and Manchester to the route, with more tour stops to follow.

Debbie McGee as Miss Lynch
McGee is a familiar face from television, radio and stage. She trained at the Royal Ballet School and began her career as a dancer, before becoming Paul Daniels' assistant on The Paul Daniels Magic Show for the BBC. In 1991 she was among the earliest female magicians to become a member of The Magic Circle, where she is now Honorary Vice President.
She reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 as the oldest celebrity contestant to do so, and won the Strictly Christmas special in 2019. The year 2026 marks her 50th year in showbusiness, and her autobiography, A Magical Life, is published this year. As Miss Lynch, she takes charge of the students at Rydell High.
Creative team
The tour is Curve's staging, directed by Curve's Artistic Director Nikolai Foster with choreography by Arlene Phillips. The book, music and lyrics are by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Designs are by Colin Richmond, orchestrations and musical supervision by Sarah Travis, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Tom Marshall and Richard Brooker, and casting by David Grindrod CDG. It is produced by Colin Ingram for InTheatre Productions and Curve.
The story follows greaser Danny and girl next door Sandy, whose summer romance is tested when they meet again at Rydell High. Songs include Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin', Hopelessly Devoted to You and You're the One That I Want.
