Bumper Blyton - An Improvised Enid Blyton Adventure Tour

Bumper Blyton - The Improvised Adventure Tour sees a riotous parody of classic Enid Blyton adventures come to a theatre near you.

Created by Amy Cooke-Hodgson (founder of Edfringe and West End hit Austentatious), and Jonah Fazel (BAFTA winning History Bombs) Bumper Blyton is chock full of innuendo and lashings of puns, performed in vintage costume with music and songs.

The show offers an hilarious tongue-in-cheek homage to Enid and her work, to be enjoyed by everyone aged 11+ or anyone who can remember being 11! Inspired by audience suggestions in the form of illustrations drawn by the audience, the cast invent a hilarious one-off adventure live on the hoof. Allowing the audience to return to a time when they could get a delicious tongue sandwich or wrap their lips around a nice spotted dick…

Bumper Blyton is an anarchic parody of the books everyone loved as a child such as; The Faraway Tree, Mallory Towers and of course the Famous Five. This year marks the show’s fifth at the festival and is developing a cult following. With a multi-award-winning cast of some of the UK's best-known improvisers from stage and screen including; The Comedy Store, Showstoppers the Improvised Musical and Doctor Who, this unmissable spoof is sure to be a hit again in 2019.

The 11th August is Enid Blyton’s Birthday (she’d have been 121 years old) and as they’ve done every year during the fringe, the cast will celebrate by handing out lashings of cake and plenty of pic-nic treats to the audience as well as giving away some special prizes.

Bumper Blyton features a veritable Eton Mess of award-winning comedians including Dan Starkey, Amy Cooke-Hodgson, Susan Harrisson, Johan Fazel and Sally Hodgkiss.
