What is 2:22 A Ghost Story about?

2:22 A Ghost Story by Danny Robins follows Jenny, who believes her new house is haunted. Every night at 2:22am she hears something. Her husband Sam dismisses it as anxiety, but their dinner party guests Lauren and Ben are drawn into the mystery. As midnight approaches, the four characters argue about the existence of ghosts, confront their own fears, and build towards a climax at exactly 2:22am that no one sees coming.

Why see 2:22 A Ghost Story?

This play has become a genuine West End phenomenon, with successive casts of major stars attracting sold-out audiences. The reason is simple: it is brilliantly written. The dialogue crackles with wit, the characters are sharply drawn, and the tension builds inexorably to one of the most talked-about endings in recent theatre history. The play also works as a smart, funny examination of belief, scepticism, gender dynamics, and what we choose to see and ignore. You will argue about it afterwards. That is the point.
